Often misrepresented, Blue Sandstone is a man-made glass, also known as aventurine glass, created by suspending copper particles inside molten glass. The sparkle isn’t random. It’s engineered. Controlled. Repeatable.
Provenance:
Abalone shells are sustainably sourced from The technique originates in Italy, traditionally attributed to Venetian glassmakers working between the 17th and 18th centuries. Through experimentation with high-temperature furnaces, they discovered that adding copper particles to molten glass would create a deep, luminous sparkle once cooled.
Why wear Blue Sandstone?
Because not everything valuable comes from the ground.
Because design can be intentional without pretending to be natural.
Because control is its own form of luxury.
